IRAN- When is Father’s Day 2015?



The idea originated in America and has been officially celebrated there on the third Sunday in June since 1966. There is also the Father’s Day in Iran, but it is hardly celebrated due to extreme suppression by the mullahs’ and economic hardship people go through under the mullahs’ regime. 
The exact origins of what we now know as Father’s Day are disputed, though it is known that the movement for a day which celebrated fatherhood began roughly 100 years ago.

Ambassador James Jeffrey, former U.S. Ambassador to Iraq warned the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on Wednesday that the Iranian regime remains a threat to destabilize the region and that a nuclear agreement would not signal “a change of heart about its ultimate hegemonic goals.”
Ambassador James Jeffrey told lawmakers that “the agreement cannot be considered outside the context of Iran’s record of destabilization in the region.”
“Iran’s behavior in the region is profoundly troubling to many states. Either an Iranian nuclear weapons capability, or an Iran politically empowered by an agreement that stops it just short of such a capability, would pose extraordinary new threats to a region already under stress, and undermine the above U.S. vital interests,” he said.......

IRAN - UN expert slams crackdown on journalist and activists in Iran

The United Nations Special Rapportuer on Situation of Human Rights in Iran expressed concern about the arbitrary and unlawful arrest and prosecution of journalists and activists in Iran has warned that their persecution weakens the protection of human rights of all in Iran.
Dr. Ahmed Shaheed, who is mandated by the UN Human Rights Council to monitor and report on the situation in Iran said: “Silencing these critical voices is unacceptable – it undermines public debate and deprives Iranians and the rest of world of important information on the reality in the country.”.....

Iran: two women hanged in prison near Tehran


These two prisoners were transferred to solitary confinement on Thursday, May 28. Various reports indicate the women were hanged in Ghezel Hesar Prison of Karaj. One of the two prisoners hanged on Saturday was Fateme Mehrabani, around 39 years of age and the mother of two children. She was in prison for about five years. Iran: 17 executions in one day


17 individuals were executed in Karaj and Urumieh just on Monday, June 1.
12 individuals were hanged on drug charges in Ghezel Hesar Prison of Karaj, west of Tehran. One of the individuals suffered a heart attack before being executed. The status of Ghezel Hesar Prison was very tense and death row prisoners in hall 3 of unit 2 were on hunger strike.
Moreover, on Monday four other individuals hanged on drug charges were Ardalan Rahdar, Mohammad Rashid Rahdar, Habib Rahdar and Shirzad Rashidi in Urumieh Central Prison.
