Prohibiting Fire Festival and calling this ceremony “religiously forbidden” while adopting extensive military and security provisions
The anti-Iranian mullahs’ regime that is fearful of the Fire Festival turning into a popular uprising against the ruling religious fascism, has resorted to extensive military and security provisions in various parts of the country, especially in Tehran.
In this respect, Mullah Ahmad Khatami, member of the Assembly of Experts, speaking at Tehran’s Friday prayer on the traditional ceremony of Chaharshanbe Suri (The Fire Festival on the eve of the last Wednesday before Nowruz ), said: “From a legal viewpoint, these fire plays are a transgression on others’ rights.

Iran, ShahrKurd: gathering of retired personnel of Metal Industry

Retired employees of Metal and Steel Industry residing in ShahrKurd andChahar-Mahal regions staged a gathering in front of the offices of the SteelRetirement Fund in western Sa’adi Street. More than 300 personnel participated in this gathering which ended in scuffles and clashes between the employees and police forces. This gathering created a 5 hours traffic jam in the city. The poverty stricken people who are suffering from high cost of living and low wages have become united in protesting the government inaction and incompetency.

Students from EkbatanUniversity, west of Tehran took part in a protest gathering last Tuesday to oppose the unjust pressures by the university authorities under the direction of the government imposed on the students to pay the full amount of tuition in advance while classes have not yet been formed completely and university services are insufficient and even absent in some cases.
