Professor Ghasem Eksiri-Fardwas beaten by university security for protesting the fact that he was expelled from work and considered unqualified for having a “female-like” voice. He had staged his sit-in outside Tehran’s Khajeh Nasir University dormitory.
This prominent physics professor was deprived of teaching by the university’s observatory board despite the fact that a group of students and various professors had affirmed his capability and competence.

Prisoner dies of lack of medical care in Zahedan Central Prison
“Shafi was suffering for a long time without any medical care due to brain malaria that he was inflicted to in prison. He never received medical care from the prison doctor, and finally died yesterday due to this negligence and the fact that his illness became very severe,” said an informed source.
Shafi is from a village in southeastern Iran and is in prison after being sentenced for murder. He was transferred to Zahedan and placed in room 11 of ward 3 in this prison.
