night, May 17, Abdul Wahid Gomshadzehi, 19, a prisoner in central prison of
Zahedan was transferred to the prison clinic by his cellmates due to severe
deterioration of his health. In the prison clinic he did not receive any
serious treatment and fall into a coma. Despite his serious health condition,
the prison authorities did not transfer him to a hospital. The next day, they
transferred him to Zahedan’s Imam Ali hospital but he died shortly after due to
delay in medical treatment, (Human Rights and Democracy Activists in Iran
reported on Tuesday).
Abdul
Wahid Gomshadzehi was arrested 2 years ago at the age of 17 in the city of
Saravan by security forces and intelligence agents and transferred to the
Bureau of the city and placed under interrogation and brutal physical and
psychological torture.
