Iran: Smuggling of goods increases

Since Hassan Rouhani became the president of the clerical regime, import of goods smuggled into the country, compared to official imports, has increased dramatically.
This increase is a telling indicator that proves the fact that the regime has lost control of the country's economic situation more than ever.
Habibullah Haghighi, the head of "Headquarters of fighting smuggling of goods and currency" has said that while the total official import imports to the country was 50 billion dollars in 2014, imports of smuggled and non-customs goods reached 40% of this figure and amounted to about 20 billion dollars.
