IRAN - Hunger striking prisoners transferred to hospital

Saeed Pour-Heydari was transferred to a hospital after his health deteriorated following a hunger strike in Rajaie Shahr Prison.
This political prisoner, born in 1981, has been on hunger strike since Saturday, April 25 protesting inhumane conditions and transfer to a ward of ordinary and dangerous inmates. Pour-Heydar was arrested during protests following the controversial 2009 elections. He left the country after his release, spending time in Turkey and the United States. He returned to Iran in February 2015, leading to his temporary detention and transfer to prison.
