IRAN- Report :Iran regime continues persecuting religious minorities


The report also said that the US Congress should reauthorize the Lautenberg Amendment, which aids persecuted Iranian religious minorities and other specified groups seeking refugee status in the United States, and work to provide the President with permanent authority to designate as refugees specifically-defined groups based on shared characteristics identifying them as targets for persecution on account of race, religion, nationality, membership in a particular social group, or political opinion.

Iran:Tehran - Protest gathering of families of political prisoners and human rights activists in Tehran

A group of families of political prisoners and human rights activists gathered on Monday in front of Iran Bar Association in Tehran. The demonstrators demanded the freedom of Ms. Narges Mohammadi who is currently in the notorious Evin Prison 
Ms. Narges Mohammadi, lawyer and human rights activist was arrested at her house on May 5th for being outspoken in defense of human rights in Iran.

From late afternoon hours of Monday, May 11th two major Kurdish cities of Mahabad and Bukan, western Iran, became the scene of clashes between democratic and freedom loving youth and residents on one side and the regime’s suppressive security forces and intelligence ministry agents on the other.

IRAN: Iranshahr residents protest death of Baluchis by State Security Forces

On Sunday, May 10, people of Mohammadabad and Karimabad villages, near Iranshahr in Sistan and Baluchestan Province, who were enraged by the death of two Baluchis, attacked the police station in Mohammadabad with wooden clubs and stones setting it ablaze. The protests in the region continued into late hours of Sunday night and protesters destroyed three vehicles belonging to the security forces and the municipality. Moreover, the Iranshahr-Bampour road was closed down by protestors.............

IRAN- MAHABAD- Iranian Demonstrations Heat Up In Kurdish Cities, Met With Military Violence

Iran regime crackdowns on protesters demanding justice for Farinaz Khosravani
Maryam Rajavi , the president-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, who is living in exile in Paris, said in a statement she supported the demonstrations. The NCRI is a constituent of an umbrella opposition group that includes five political organizations.
The Mahabad protests inspired Kurds living in Iraq, Syria and Turkey to demonstrate themselves. Kurds across the three countries marched in their respective cities, holding signs with the phrase 'JusticeForFarinaz':
Despite the violence in Mahabad, the Iranian government has not issued a public statement on the situation, but religious hardliners in the country have denounced the protests. The radio silence in Tehran appears indicative of a larger struggle taking place between the ruling establishment.
