Prisoner dies of lack of medical care in Zahedan Central Prison

Shafi Mohammad Tanumand lost his life on Saturday, April 18 in Zahedan Central Prison due to asevere illness and the prison doctor’s negligence.

“Shafi was suffering for a long time without any medical care due to brain malaria that he was inflicted to in prison. He never received medical care from the prison doctor, and finally died yesterday due to this negligence and the fact that his illness became very severe,” said an informed source.

Shafi is from a village in southeastern Iran and is in prison after being sentenced for murder. He was transferred to Zahedan and placed in room 11 of ward 3 in this prison.
